What How Why - Art

The theme I have chosen is Women's Rights. I have chosen this theme because I believe women are just as important as men, and we deserve to have the same rights as men no matter where we are in the world. I believe young girls deserve to get an education and the right to feel safe no matter where they are.
I am passionate about this because I have heard of the terrible way women are treated in other countries, how they are treated like objects instead of people. I have seen inequality, and although the world has improved, prejudice is still alive.
On the 19th of September 1893 (125 years in September) women in New Zealand got the vote. Although they were still viewed as inferior to men, this was a huge step in the world of feminism. Their fight took 3 years of petitioning and getting signatures, although they had been protesting for a lot longer.
