Selfie Woodcut Reflection

In art we are doing German Expressionism inspired woodcuts of our own faces. The emotion that I been concentrating on while working on is Anxiety. One of my favourite pictures I've seen is this one done by Leonard Baskin. I like the way he uses positive and negative space, and makes the subject look elongated by using negative space. When I complete my final piece I want people to understand the emotion anxiety, and what it feels like. I now need to come up with a final design and translate it onto the wood.

  1. I love your descriptive language. Elongated, and understanding negative space. Well done Scarlett. I wonder how these ideas might end up translating into your final art work.
